Existing grass removal, and re-sodding prices.

I am trying to come up with an estimate for a customer.
They want me to give them a price on taking out their existing lawn and then installing new sod. I can get the sod for about $.20 sq.ft. I have never had to remove someones entire lawn, so I have no idea on what to charge per sq.ft. Should I rent a sod cutter and pull it up in rolls?

not sure about what to charge, but you will definately need a sod cutter. youd be there for weeks with a manual sod cutter. i think cutting the sod with the cutter and rolling it is your best bet. remember how heavy the sod will be when you take it up and install it. im not sure on the size of the lawn, but sometimes its worth it to have the sod delivered and for the sod company to use their forklift to unroll it while you rake it in place. saves a lot of time
