Just purchased a TruckCraft TC-100 Pro Steel Dump Insert a week ago. I'm very much looking forward to mulch installation and leaf removal this year. No more climbing in the back and raking the leaves out. :clapping:

looks great. how much did that run you if you don't mind me asking? i really like it, pulling the leaves out by hand really sucks, and is that a 1500 or 2500 RAM? kind of hard to tell, thanks

Thanks for the compliments. With the options (cab guard, rollup tarp, sideboard buildup) my final bill was around $3696. After raking the leaves out of the bed for the past two years I decided an upgrade was definitely needed. It will also be nice for mulch installation. Now I should be able to hold around 5 cubic yards of mulch. My truck is a 2003 Dodge 2500 HD 4x4 with a 5.7L V8 Hemi.

Hard work is paying off...I'm pretty happy. :)

mister_snowplow, Did you look at any other brands of dump beds before deciding that this was the one you wanted?

Thanks

I did look around a bit (EZ Dumper/DownEaster), but from the beginning I pretty much had my heart set on buying a TruckCraft dump. Why do you ask?

I was just curious as to what other brands you had looked at.

Good luck with it.

A TruckCraft Dump? If so, good deal for you. I'm not sure how you bought a TruckCraft Dump that cheap when on their site it goes for $2832 without any options.

In the end, I felt comfortable paying more because I know that TruckCraft Dumps are top of the line. If spending more give me peace of mind...then it is worth it to me and my business.

I checked out the photos on your website. Nice work and equipment. How were you able to get your TruckCraft that cheap? Older model? Used? Where exactly is NE Dumper and Trailer? I'll keep them in mind for any other purchases.

You are going to love it, I have a downeaster, and it is probably the best thing ever, saves me time and money! My downeaster was 1995 out the door and I will not debate which is better but my downeaster is about as good as it gets.
Good luck

No matter which brand you go with they sure make life alot easier. You'll have a nice grin on your face when you pull in to dump, and the person next to you is raking or shoveling. I got the same thing about a year and a half ago, think I paid about $2800 with all the bells and whistles. I forgot how nice and shiny the inside of the dump bed was when new.

They have been selling them for years there, brand new. Have bought 4 of them at that price. Not trying to make you feel bad but they are within your range to buy also.

I do like the sideboard deal, that neat..never seen that... must be new.

Give them a call if you don't believe me. I know they show a high list on the truckcraft website, doesn't mean eveyone sells them for that. They are not leftover, old models, nothing.. Brand new, restocked all the time.

Anyhow, having said that... If they sold for what you paid everywhere I would still buy one. They are worth every penny. I have never found anything that it wouldn't lift. Enjoy.

Oh, and I choose not to have the cab protector for these reasons - 1) height issues pulling into garage 2) visibility, I plow with my truck and you don't even know the insert is in there without the headboard. I prefer to make my own removable headboard. The setup in this pic is nice, made of 3/8 inch plywood and 2x3 and 2x4 for the stakes. Painted on both sides, rmevable in 15 seconds. I have a pin system in the front corners to hold the front to the sides. I made them out of thin ply because of weight. I put 5 yards of mulch in it 4 times this week, perfect.

Yeah, that has been me raking and shoveling the leaves out of the back of my truck for the past couple of years. Not anymore. :clapping:

Where are they located in RI, do they have a website/phone number? I would consider using them in the future.

I also plow with my truck. I'm not too worried about the cab guard though. It has a mesh front which allows me quite a bit of visibility. The side boards are just 2 2x12's each, that can be pulled out in seconds.

On a side note...I like your Walker, must be great in the fall.

Guys I'm just curious, why do you use a insert instead of converting the bed to a dump? I've been doing it for years without a problem and it's alot cheaper. I just got a price for my new F250 SD for $2500.00. Just wondering.

I'm in the market for a dump insert in CT as well now. I know this is an old thread but I figured I would give it some updating. It seems as though all dump inserts in the area are right around $3000. I called NE Dumpers and Trailers and they quoted me $2800 for just the insert. Then called Trailer Depot and they quoted me $2895 installed. These are both truck craft. Anyone else in the area has suggestions of places to look?

I hear ya on the no more raking or blowing out the bed! Easily one of the best pieces of equipment we ever bought, I would strongly recommend a cab protector! Ours isa Downeaster w/ cab protector and when we get mulch the loader bucket is a 7ft wide bucket and some of it hits the cab protector saving my truck!

Looks good. I would like to do that to my truck eventually but I'm not sure if it would look right or not. Do you have airbags or helpers on that dodge?
