guy wants aeration and dethatching done at the same time, should this be done? If so, i deffinatly think i should dethatch first then aerate after. 8k sq ft lot, please let me know what yout think, i am doing all my dethatching jobs next saturday and the aerations two weeks after that, please let me know if both can be done. thanks

I see no reason why they can't be done the same time. Dethatch first though!!!!:waving:

You can but dependant on where you live, and the weather. We dethatch generally in mid to late april in this part of mich. Everything here is so wet now. We always aerate 1st as this helps dry out the soil to make it easy to dethatch. Plus if the griund is moist to wet it iis a bear to pick up the thatch and being wet dethatching rips the HE%% out of the sahllow root systems. the dethatching help break up the plugs also and distribute them as a top dressing. 90% of the time dethatching is not necessary and can be detrimental to the lawn , not helpful to it.
