Does anyone know what the high RPM setting should be a for a Briggs and Stratton I/C 9hp vertical shaft. Don't have the specific serial # or model number but does anyone have a idea?

Are you sure it is a vertical shaft? How old is this engine? Most are around 3600.

This engine is actually a 10 hp re-badged a 9 hp for some OEM's that wanted a smaller engine. Briggs done this to save from building another engine for them. 3600 as newz said is a good number at no load.

3600 is almost always a good number if you're not sure.
