looking to get the closest measurement for sod estimate.

i thought it was an easy question

measure the area and call the place where you will get the sod. they will be able to tell you how many sq. ft. are on a pallett. I think it's normally around 505sq. ft. good luck

there are 500 sq ft on a pallet here but in oklahoma it is simple just take the lenght X width and that is your sq ft

Our sod farms charge $1.55 per roll = 10 sq feet +TAX!!!!

Do not forget to collect sales tax on your materials.

The Tax Man will catch up with you eventually.

Divide the property square footage by 10 and I know how many rolls I need.

I call an hour in advance and they have it waiting when I get there.

This is what i figured. Here there is a sod farm that cuts the sod 18 x 36.

length times width in ft equals sq. ft. squared. measure all the major areas of the yard as square shapes. estimate the remaining areas. measure triangles like squares then divide by 2. you can also pretend curves are like triangles. estimate by measuring a triangle through the median of the curve.

18 x 36 is standard 5 sq. ft piece

or should i say pretend curves are like a line and run the line visually through the middle. buy some extra for trimmed scrap pieces that cant be used. and highball a little. if the farm is close you can also get a little more later. but sometimes you look stupid when you have too much extra.
