What would you guys charge to put down 50 bags that have already been delivered. Its pretty difficult due to many shurbs I have to be careful about not getting the mulch to close to. Thanks.

Do you have to edge the beds, clean them out, etc.?? Or only spread the mulch...

Roughly 4 yards x your hourly rate. $200-$240 is a good range.
Who paid for the mulch? You or homeowner?

the beds are edged and weeds are pulled so all I'm doing is putting it down. The homeowner paid for it and had it delivered.

If these are 3 cubic foot bags then it's about 5.5 yards. Hard to say without seeing the job site, maybe $300-ish.

True.....I based my quote off of 2CF bag........I don't think I have ever seen a 3 CF bag in Florida. But based on 3 CF bags $300 is a fair price.

$55.00 per yard installed if I buy it. Double grind here costs me $27.00/ yard to pick up.
If they buy it and have it delivered, I charge $28 per yard.

Just bid one mulch and weed job out, 14 yards of mulch installed at $75 a yard, and get for $25. Plus spring clean up and trim all bushes. Two helpers and one more truck. Big flower beds to weed out and fix some of the bed borders and priced this at $1585.00. After paying the help, gas , material, and taxes, i might put about $230 in the bank. The owner looks at me and was like, don't you think thats a little high? I know the area and no one in their right mind would do it for less then that. Some people think you are in business to go out of business.

My ball park price would be around $350 to $400. Why buy bags? Go bulk it's cheaper. Around here a yard of mulch at the supply yard is $23.00 a yard and the I go around charging $60 a yard, That is $37.00 profit for each yard you go and use.

Bulk is cheaper but since I switched to bags I'm spreading it up to twice as fast vs. bulk. Especially if you're working around a lot of plants. A yard in bags costs me around $28 vs. $18-$20 for bulk. If you can do them that much faster you free up more time for more work payup
