Any one have a tip on where to buy bulk mulch in NC? I get double-shredded hardwood for 19 dollars a yard from a local nursery. I have heard of others buying from 10-15 a yard from the supplier. Also would like some of the decorative stones like slate, flagstone, penn. field stone, etc. Too high to get from the nursery.

:( OK, people, out of 12 viewings, NOBODY has ANY info on a better source for mulch and natural stone? All the knowledge out there, and still the big goose-egg? Who woulda' thunk it??

Try NC Mulch. I think they are located in Middlesex NC. That is where I buy mine from. They have double ground hardwood for around $11.00 a cu/yd delivered. They bring it in 80 cu/yd loads in a walking floor van trailer. They are also very prompt on delivery. Some of the prettiest mulch I have ever used. I am not at the office right now but if you send me a PM I will get you the owners name and phone number. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much, I have been waiting a while for a response to this post I had almost given up. That sounds like a good price. Best place to reach me PM is home. 252 308 0695. The name is Kevin, and I very much appreciate the info. I am a bit tired of getting "fleeced" every time I have to order from the local nursery.

Hi lakegastonla,
I am not sure how far it is from you but Southland in Aberdeen, NC has bulk bark at $9yd, some other mulch they sell only comes in bags, cedar 3cf 23.85per yd, cypress 20.25 per yd. plus they have others, as well as lime potting soil, cow manure etc. etc. Also the best place to find stone is in Mt Gilead NC direct from the quarry.
Hope this helps, I was searching through old threads and found this one today.
Kerry

Oh yea I am not sure if they have it in bulk but they sell hardwood mulch in 3cf bags for $13.50 per yd

I realize that this thread is from a while back but ...

The thing that is usually not taken into consideration when many discuss their mulch purchase price is "bulk pricing". We can get mulch for as little as $14/yd if we are buying it by the tri-axle load. We have even been able to find it as low as $10/yd for pine if we are buying by a 70/yd trailer load.

Have you considered the pine bales for a cheap alternative in your area???

You can get a large load from Mulch Masters in Raleigh. Carolina Mulch Express will deliver pretty far as well as mulch blowing. I pay $10 a yard for triple shredded hardwood. Brown, black, and red dyed mulch is $19 a yrd.
