Alright, admit it. Appearance does have some influence on your purchasing decisions when it comes to mowers. I know there are a couple of brands I won't even demo because they're just butt ugly. Call me vain or whatever, but as much as I love my Hustler's performance, that spoiler and overall appearance just looks sweet. What's the ugliest (not talking performance or anything like that) machine out there?

By the way, my vote is that big piece of tin called the Dixie Chopper.

i would have liked to have voted for two.... dixie and hopper, both are totally horrific to look at.

It has no bearing whatsoever on what mower I would buy.

Dixie doesn't bother me too much but Grasshoppers colors are just plain terrible.

Grasshopper must be the most dog, butt, ugly piece of equipment there is. I would hate to think I had to look at that thing all day long & worse yet haul it around town.

My only problem with Scag's appearance is that hideous paint. It looks all sun faded right on the showroom floor. :dizzy:

I wonder what the "other" votes were for?

Yea right!!! The gas tanks and floor pan might not rust but the rest sure will. Many mowers come with plastic tanks so all you really have going is the floor pan which is usually the last part on a mower to rust anyway. So while the rest of your mower is falling apart from rust at least your floor pan will be clean.

With that said, I used to own Dixie Chopper and there are a few things I miss about that mower (The stainless wasn't one of them), but like any mower they all have pro's and con's.

My Chopper is really ugly and I know it. But for just starting I got a great price on it and couldn't pass it up. I hope it gets me started this year and if all goes well I will add another mower to the fleet this coming winter.

I have tried and tried to learn how to drive them machines and I can never seem to get one to go perfectly straight! Not that the machine is ugly, but I don't understand that 1 hand drive system!
I do however like the 1 hand drive system on the CAT skidsteers!

Dixie chopper is a tuff looking mower. I wouldn't dare to take an exmark threw the stuff I go threw everyday. It may do the same job as the chopper but it just don't seem right to of me not using a chopper on some stuff I cut.
I love the look of the choppers there tuff looking.

Exactly. I love the look of the stainless. I guess if it doesnt come with a shiny coat of paint people dont like them. Lets face it, Choppers are a grass cutting machine. Thats what they are focused on, not aesthetics.

My Chopper is a 50" 27HP Runbehind and all I see in the forums is that they are ugly. I have a Kubota B7500 with a 60" finish mower if I want to look pretty but it's kinda slow but steady with an awesome 4X4.

I bought my Chopper to cut grass and thats it.

I agree that it does look odd but again I bought mine to economically cut grass. Is there anything wrong with that?

I would agree that Dixie Choppers are ugly but those Gizmow mowers are even higher on the ugly scale!

You're a smart man. The Dixie Chopper is the ultimate lawn machine, perhaps its looks deceive us for that very reason.

I would like to add that even though these mowers are ugly in my opinion they do appear to get the job done in their video clips at least. Of course I thought the new body style from dodge was ugly when it came out and now I like it, maybe the Gizmow will grow on me in time. I just wanted to add that.

Since when has the customer started caring about how ugly your mower was. As far as my customers are concerned they dont care if i mow the lawn with a weedeater as long as they have perfect straight well defined stripes. No I dont use a weedeater it was just an analogy. Personally I run Grasshoppers and although the tan and brown are not my favorite colors I have not been able to find another machine that can even stand next to it as far as comfort and being able to put down stripes like it can and trust me I have tried every mower with the exception of a scag and a gravely only because they are not available in my area.:weightlifter: :weightlifter:
