A local landscaper installed this as I was working on one across the street.I would have refused to do this if it is what my client wanted..it is just BAD landscaping and I have a reputation to uphold..apparently this guy does not..and you can see why.

What are ya talkin about. that is absolutely gorgeous. they left plenty of room for it to grow in!!!

LOL: just kidding, that is pretty bad, granted customer may have wanted it, but you need to know when to walk away:)

WTF is that? :dizzy: Looks like someone had some liners that needed to be bumped up and decided to just plant them instead.

1 gallon Photina shrubs..lousy ones at that.

is that a bow in the wall or dose it just curve and look that way in the picture?

04-11-2006, 04:06 PM
It has potential sheshovel. Look at all that bed space! At least they put in a decent looking wall minus the weeds and minus it being lopsided.

walls not level. probably no drainage behind it. you sure you didnt take that pic here in AR. you think thats bad. i should take some pics of the local crap.

It has possibilities, for a real landscaping company to redo it.And what does it say about a customer,if that pos project met expectations.I have seen better homeowner, do it themselves work then that.

:canadaflag: :usflag: LOL are you sure the owner did not do it?

04-11-2006, 07:24 PM
Yup..watched the two guys install it myself..I would just LOVE to know how much they got for it.

Yeah.... we just finished that job up the other day.

Sheshovel... Did you ever stop and think that maybe the it is what the customer wanted? I know I have instaled some ugly landscapes, but it was what the customer wanted. Don't blame the landscapers.

I think the bow in the wall might just be the curve of the wall.

It is a pretty sad landscape. Who they heck landscapes their mobile homes? Did they add spinners to the rims? I wouldn't even landscape a mobile home...I have rep to uphold.

04-11-2006, 11:08 PM
Hey I landscape their mobile homes..and make good money at it too.It is required by the park.I have done a bunch of little landscapes in that place. So what?
Like I said before..if that is what the owners wanted..I would refuse the work..Luckly the ones who hire me in there are willing to spend some good money on land they don't own..they fiqure..they gotta live there and everybody has to look at it.In fact they seem to compete quite a bit.
I don't just do work in this place but it has kept me in steady ready $$ for the past few years..you can do alot of these while still handling several at a time outside too...

if those were crape myrtles, they'd fill in the elevated bed at 5-6' this season alone!

THat is a perfect example of why we will not allow any more than 20% or our plants to be 1 gallons. When we drive away from a job it needs to look good. Neighbors will not remember who installed it 3 years from now when those 1 gallons fill in (I'm not trying to imply that that one will ever look good) , but they will remember who did it in 30 days when it still looks anemic. It has to look done when we leave or our trucks will not be seen on the job - period! We will install someone else's design, but only if it meets our standards - we don't cut corners; so don't ask!
