MINI Z - 52"/ 19hp KAW - oil question

Coming up on the 5 hour oil change interval this week.

What is everyone using for the first change? I plan on going with MOBIL 1, but wondering if I should wait for a break-in period. Also, what is the weight y'all are using? 10W-30? I've always been told to wait for 50 or so hours for break-in before going with the syn.

I would not run synthetic in it until after 50 hours.

What is the weight everyone is using?

In the Kawasaki manual, it's a little vague. According to it, in my climate I should be using straight 40w. I'm not (or don't wanna) do this. I was thinking maybe 10W-40 would be better.

What is everyone else here in the south using? Gonna use either Pennzoil, Halvoline, or Chevron until 50 or so hours then going Mobil 1.

10w30 or 10w40 would be what I suggest.
Just keep with a good name brand of oil and you will be fine.
