I am planting seed under a bunch of trees. What kind seed should i buy and will grass grow?

Plant creeping or red fescue as they tolerate shade well:) I would plant a mixure of 2-3 different types. If it don't get enough sun.........No grass will grow at all.

Sun and water are the two biggies.

Trees are like umbrella's. Those nice showers the rest of the lawn likes and enjoys are not felt under those trees.

Get them thinned out and trimmed up.

Some lime and starter fert and water lightly 2x's a day until germinated.

After germination continue to water, but water deeply. You want to get this growing good prior to the tree going into full bloom.
