today my mower started stuttering and backfiring badly.at first it was sputtering a little at full throttle.then when i lowered the throttle it almost cut out and sputtered real bad.it let out an awful backfire with a puff of black smoke.its a 2003 44" exmark with the 17hp Kawasaki.it only has about 350 hrs on it.is this a result of carbon build up?i would like some ideas as to what could be causing it before i bring it in to be serviced again.
