This weed is the most aggresive that I've ever dealt with...It grows sideways and when picked, just breaks off and continues growing and spread like wildfire !

Please ID and tell me a good application.....

Wild Carrot — Daucus carota — Family: Apiaceae (Carrot)
Is my guess.

I've run into this weed before and wondered what it was. It smells like a member of the chrysanthemum family and has very white root structures, yes?

When you say wild carrot, do you mean Queen Annes lace (daucus carota)? If yes, this is NOT wild carrot. QAL has feathery, fernlike foliage and grows (here in zone 3) to about 4'. Here's a link with good pix.

Are the back of the leaves white or whitish? I have a book of turfgrass weeds and it looks similar to Artemisia vulgaris - Mugwort. Here is a link to a website describing it.

YES ! After looking at the Mugwort and reading about the aggressive root system I knew that was it... Thank you !! This weed is a son of a gun ! Most aggresive I've dealt with in NJ.

THanks for everyones input ......
