does this sound right

I have to mulch two entrances for a subdivison, the total square footage is 5435 s.f., I am only putting a top coat on at 1" thick. I came up with 17yds, does that sound right. There are 6 bed 70'x9', 20'x30', 37'x18',17'x17', 65'x20',and 65'x30'.

5445 sq. ft. rounds up to 5450. 1 yd. will cover 100 sq ft. @ 3" deep. So, 54.5 (100 ft. units) @ 1" deep is going to be 1/3 of that. So, 54.5/3 = 18.16, or 18 yds. Better a bit too much over 5450 sq. ft. than too thin.
