The switch itself is in the handle. I opened the handle to see that the switch appears to be doing its job of moving from metal contact to no contact which would seem work however, it doesn't. Before I start disassemble the unit, what could other problems be? Where does the other end connect to in the motor housing? BTW, the unit starts when in the off or on position.

Most of the time, this happens on the BR because of a break in the wires running from the ignition, along the blower flexhose and into the handle.

Usually one end goes to the engine bolt and the other end connects to the coil. On Echo they have quick disconnect that you can pull the wires apart and use continuity meter to see if wires to/from the swithch are okay.
