Hard to get those trimmers off/on at that height we lowered ours onto the ourside of bed in front of the tire on the sidewalk side.

i'd change 1 thing and in time you probably will,on the tailgate i'd put up plywood or such and attach and gain the larger printing space so it easier to read for the driver behind you, also try white lettering against the green.

nice work man

i could have dont the play wood thing though it would cost you alot more on gas to pull it and it would make the gate alot heaver. and yea i am going to get yellow letters for the back gate thats just what i had at the time.

this trail will be for a mow only crew here soon i am looking to but another big trailer now and hire a irragtion guy and another landscaper to do all the side work .

Nice set up. But come on you can't go around mowing lawns for $20 a cut :hammerhead:. You are driving down the market man :nono: .

EPIC
04-15-2006, 08:23 PM
no i am not in my area $20 a cut is the going rate most places are only
5000sft and i only work in a confind area . most of my lawns are in groups of 4 so i dont have as much over head nor time spent on employees driving place to place . also thats just to mow..trimming hedges pulling weeds and etc. that all cost more . this is the best adverting method i sware by it.

Not for Florida. I spent the winter there, but come home to work. They pay nothin' in FLA. My son-in-law in Cape Coral pays $65 a MONTH to get his yard cut. It's about a 100x200 foot lot. AND they weed eat under all three boats he has parked in the back yard! I told him I'd charge nearly that per week!
Florida's a nice place to visit but you wouldn't want to WORK there.

Dave

BTW EPIC...Nice looking rig. Good luck to you.

So you mow per cut? Will you do it every week, or every 10 days for the cheapskates? And in winter once a month maybe? If so, you are mowing say jan and feb 1 cut each. March and april 2 each, may 3. June-sept 4 each. Oct-dec 2 each. So you get 31 cuts a year at $20 = $620 a year. Me, I charge by the month and for mowing only, no hedges or anything to do, I charge about $90 a month minimum. $90x12=$1080. I probably cut about the same amount of times as you.

Im just trying to help you out, I did the same thing when i started. I wont say your going to "ruin the market" or "bring down prices", because if you could do that here you would be a millionaire.

The above example is for a crappy bahia yard that never grows. If you dont charge them by the month from the start, they will never want you to. And if it isnt long during the slow times they wont want it done unless its the day before Christmas, thanksgiving, easter or the 3rd of july.

OK ITS SAYS TO A CUT TO BRING IN CALLS ...ops cap locs ....neways thats just a marketing thing i charge min $80 a month that 1 cut a week in the on season and bi weekly in the off season and its still $80 a month people that want it cut when they think it needs it get charge $10 more per cut cause i cant work less and get payed the same during winter . ....as for bahia grass i dont even take those crappy lawns .... not worth the time and never look good ... i will not even take a sod job that the customer request that be laid .. makes my company look like i put in crappy grass.. remember cost of living isnt as much here lawns are smaller much smaller im from pittsburg so dont neone tell me i dont know what i am talking about ... and remember like i said earlier $20 a cut is a very good marketing idea it has served me well and that hardly means that all of my lawns are done for that price .....upsell upsell upsell ........ and dont take nething the wrong way i like everyones opions the good and the bad

Epic, you have a great logo, I know it costs $$, but why don't you have it on the trailer as big as you can fit it. It is very catchy. I do 4 places in a trailer park. 15$ each yard. I can do all 4 in 1 hour (solo). Cut, trim, blow. I never have to move the truck. Best I can tell,1hr 15x4=60hr. I can't get that rate on an average 1/4 acre lot. Just make sure you are making money. Not just paying bills.

They pay nothin' in FLA???? That's a false statement! Out of all of the accounts that I have, even the small 5000 sqft lawns, I don't have an account less then $38 per visit. Average is $53. An this is for my smaller properties. Florida is paying me just fine. Maybe you just visited the wrong part of Florida!!!
