whens the best time to roll a yard?

Right after you install new sod or right before you seed a new yard and that's the only time.

Obviously it works best on new sod, but I think you can roll a yard anytime as long as the ground is soft enough.

I always figured early to late spring for the roller and right after spreading seed, kinda helps get that seed down in to the soil for a faster seed growth
