i have a redmax extended reach hedge trimmer/line trimmer .it has the moveable head 90 degrees both ways. whole unit has only about 15 hours tops running time on it . i only use this for doing hedges. apparently the head wiped out yesterday (yes it was well greased). anyone else experience the same problems with theirs?

Just bought one myself. I've been using the line trimmer for the last 2 weeks with no problems at all. Matter of fact, I can't get myself to use the echoe 2400 anymore. The redmax is great. I haven't had a chance to use the hedge trimmer though. Maybe I better try it out.

mine is 3 years old. It has gotten a little noisy but no real problems to speak of! Sure is a back saver!

RedMax had some problems with the earlier versions of the extended hedge trimmers, I even think they had a recall on it. The gearhead had a tendency to seized up.
