how often are you suppose to switch the blades on a bluebird i think C or P 18 power comber

I have the husqy dt 18 and this is 4th season and I haven't changed any. I suppose you change them when they stop hitting the thatch

When they wear down so you have no adjustment left......

The best way to streach the life out of them is to flip them around every year so the pointed edge is pulling the thatch up. It's also a good time to inspect the flails and bars for excessive wear. If you notice that either is overly worn just replace them as a set.
