Along with door hangers I am thinking of joining the local Chamber of Comm.

Not for the usual networking or lack thereof, but here for $100.00 they will fax a 8 1/2x11 ad to all chamber members.

So, Chamber membership is $275.00 per year, then the $100.00 per ad for faxing.

What do you think of the idea of faxing an ad like this?

That's pretty high membership dues for a single operation. Although, if the membership numbers are in like the 500 member range and it's business members, being able to fax 500 potential clients for $100 a time probably isn't too bad.

Our membership dues are $150 a year for one Chamber and $125 for a Chamber in a neighboring town that is quickly becoming a city.

Usually though joining a Chamber gets you hounded for donations and very little work recommendations.

Our chamber costs $250, but has a membership of 3000+.

we been members of our local chamber for some time now. cost is $275

our nitch is residential lawncare

chamber membership has done very little in helping us grow (would help us more if our nitch was commercial lawncare perhaps)

we get tons of faxes and emails from other chamber members....drives me nuts. deleting emails and replacing fax toner is a real waste of time

Well the Chamber around here has 500 members, and the yearly membership fee is $191.00 for a 0ne person company. They no longer do the broadcast fax due to new regulations, but they do broadcast emails for $75.00 per incident and it goes out to Approx 525 contacts.

Currently no landscape or LCO is doing the adv.

I think I am going to give it a shot.
