Drive Belt

I think my drive belt on my super z may be slipping. If I move the arms forward too fast I hear a funny noise coming from under the mower and it does not accelerate correctly. On a incline it is even worst. As long as I take it easy and don't accelerate all at once it does just find. Seems to be even better after I mow a few minutes. I looked at the belt and it does seem a little shinny compared to the deck belt.
1) Does this sound like a belt problem?
2) What are some reasons the belt would fail so quick? I just have 12 hours on the mower, it has been kept clean, and have not mowed anything thick.
3) What is the MSRP on a new belt for a SZ 60XR-7/28efi?

Sounds like the belt may be glazed over, talk to your dealer and have him get a new belt on it.
I do not know why it would be doing this, have your dealer call our service department when he gets the old belt swapped out, we will need to look at it.

Yes I would definitly have it looked at, or it may leave you straneded. Mine faield at 18.2 hours, I never thought to look at it though. I didn't experience anything like you are though. But come to think of it, the response of the hydros was kinda sluggish on the last 3 job I did before it broke. I never was on any incline nor did I ever accelerate all at once, however, I do remember when I was doing my own yard, I found myself pulling a stick all the way back to the stops just to make a turn, and that is not something I normally did. It does respond alot better with a new belt on it. So like PJ says, get it in to your dealer before it breaks, luckily mine was in my own yard.
