I noticed this "poll" feature from a post by "guido".
I was wondering what the most popular brand of front line mower everyone is using? Just name brand, no models needed.
If you post "other" feel free to reply with the brand name.
Brands I felt were not the major nine I polled are as follows: Lesco, Accu, Bush Hog, Husqvarna, Massey Ferguson, Ransome, Honda, Gravely, Cub Cadet, Dixon, MTD, Encore, Snapper, Sutech, Bobcat, Woods, Ferris, Landscapers Supply, GrassHopper, Yazoo/Kees, Kubota, Rich and Bunton.
These were the ones I recall off the top of my head. If I have forgotten any feel free to add also.

If you post to this thread we don't want to see any equipment wars. Don't even bother baggin on somebody for not using the equipment you use. Post's like that kill a thread fast.

The nine I chose reflect what I see locally and in the magazines that are sent to me. They do not reflect what I perceive as the "best". The poll is to determine the most common and frequently used mower in the industry, and a general percentage of its popularity.

AWM, in another post on this topic, Pierre explained that you can only have 10 in a poll. This is why the list is short, but Deere is on the list.
You would need a poll with about 30 spots to do this fairly. I just looked at a list of 25 lawn mowers and there were two missing that I knew of on that list, Toro and Wright Stander, so they were not off the wall Mfg. companies that were missing.

Actually another problem with online polls is you can usually only pick 1 choice. As you can see by my tagline there are a lot of companies that use more than one brand of mower. But, if DC made walkbehinds... My Gravely doesn't count.

Thanks for the input guys. As Eric had stated I came up with 33 brands of mowers (not differentiating corporations that own several brands) But the poll only allows ten categories. The other ones I came up with are listed in the first post to this thread.
I did not consider about multiple brands as noted by Richard, so I would say that your most used brand of mower would be the one to choose.
I guess this needed more thought before I posted it.

Here in Seattle, wa. I have seen 2 comercial brands that work Ok when you are into comercial mowers. Toro and Hondas. The rest of the brand name I have never seen in my entire life. I have no idea what they look like and how they work. But One think I have to said.here rains alot. So Ariens is an orange ugly mower that You can install a Snapper bagger blade when raining and that babe works better thatn Toro Or honda. I have seen the man that works with that ugly mower living a great work after he leaves and is raining. In the other side I have to mow twice or just quite working for the day =( OK hope you can get some idea after this in Seattle, wa. Maybe some other companies use other machines but very rare cuz no one likes to deal with small mower dealer over here. they charge way to much. thanxs for the poll and I think is great to talk about brand names so we all can benefit of this poll. great poll. Yellowpages
And down the backstretch they come. I'm betting on other. Great poll. Kind of dissapointed my mower is considered an other now. Guess it is time to get rid of the hoppers.:)

So far the Lawnsite mower brand popularity poll is as follows:
Exmark 26%
Other 24
Toro 14
Dixie 12
Walker 9
Scag 8
Dane 4
Deere 4
Ferris *
Hopper *
Wright and Gravely did not receive votes. * Ferris and Grasshopper were specified as "others".
As noted above it seems to be regional as to the popularity of brands. I bet Lawnsite discussions were instrumental in increasing sales of hoppers and Exmarks.
Thanks for the replies!

What suprises me is we have over 3000 users at this website, almost 500 views of this post and there are only 83 votes.

Yep, that's what happened in our case. We went with the Exmarks because of the good feedback we read about them on here.
As mentioned previously about the number of views on this thread, sometimes the views can be a little misleading. I know I for one have looked at this thread 4 or 5 times to see how what the results were on the poll.
And I bet others have done the same.
