View Full Version : Ch Valve Now Working ,Tip!!!!

I wrote a few days ago about a faulty check valve not keeping the pressure and the pump not working on an irrigation system.I thought maybe it was dirty so I took the my compressor I use for fall blowouts and pumped 150 psi into the check valve through the removable cap. I had to reprime the pump but now it is working perfectly. Certainly easier than changing the valve, just passing it along ...Walt<>

Obviously, a check valve needs to seal tight, but a leaky check valve won't prevent a pump from priming and working. If there is a restriction in the suction line, like from a clogged well point, the air pressure can help clear the inlet screen, and make a driven well functional again. Water pressure works, too.
