How much time should I wait after mowing to apply 2,4-D? I have a yard that is 70% Dandilion and milkweed mix that I am trying to kill off? Also any better recommendation on a better product. I was told 2,4-D would do the trick. I am using Agri Star 2,4-D Amine 4 active ingred are Dimethylamine Salt of 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid 46.8% other ingred 52%.
Thanks for any help.

The more leaf area there is at the time of application the more material will be absorbed. If you spray right after mowing there will be very little leaf area and the plants may not absorb enough herbicide.
Ideally, you would spray your herbicide, wait 12-24 hours, then mow.

to play it safe wait a day or two. if the grass has been mowed high and there is plenty of broad leaf leaves you could probably spray sooner and get results. the main thing is you want a lot of leaf surface to take in the herbicide.
