i'd say it has something to do with the shaft. my dealer said the higher end are steel with less user fatigue while the lower end uses a flexible aluminum which causes tingling in the hands after prolonged use.... i'm about half drunk so this may not be all accurate. please correct my mistakes, but i believe i'm mostly right.
oh and also does anybody know the real price of them. i found one for 209.00 is that a deal or regular price?

The SRm-251E is $219.99.
It is not as heavy duty as the SRM-260 as it does not have anti vibe and it has a cheaper carb.
Not a bad trimmer but not near as nice as the SRM-260.
also is this engine a 4 stroke on it??? i think it is but not sure.. thanks

The SRM-251E is a pure commercial duty 2 cycle engine.
