Looking for a little info on a redmax trimmer. Looking for power and commercial/pro quality. I've got about 50 accounts and I'm tired of pulling on my echos for 10 mins before they start. They always seem to be cold blooded...anyway I need the best and RedMax seems to be very much liked here...Thanks,,,

The full line of trimmers is great. the tr2300 is 9.4 Lbs, light weight. It has the smaller engine. The 2400S and 2600s are great all around trimmers lots of power and conbined with redmax square line can "kick grass". The 3000s is the big boy lots of low end torque. We have a 2400s, I have used them all. They are a good strong line of trimmers, 2 year commercial warranty.

The 2400's and 2600's are both great all around trimmers. Having used and had over 10 of them over the years, there not cold blooded at all.

Its funny how in two seperate threads you are bashing redmax....I have used Stihl, Echo, Tanaka, Husquvarana's, Shindaiwa's, and a few others. Nobody builds a better trimmer than Redmax.

Redmax sucks . . . my 2400s has no antivibe system, the head wore out in half a season, the line cutter fell off, guard sucks . . . I think they are built cheap will not buy another
though the engine did start easy and was good on fuel

IMO husqvarna is better choice 323l or 326lx
best power to weight
best anti-vibe, handle is isolated from shaft
start easily 1-2 pulls
better gaurd
I've had one 3 years bought used does 40-70 yards a week

Evergreen

We just purchased the 2600 Stratocharged line trimmer about three weeks ago. Seems to do well with plenty of power using both 0.080 and 0.095 round and square line. Cold starts normally take 2 pulls, warm less than 10 minutes stopped will take one pull. longer than ten minutes seem to take 2 pulls. We normally only trim at partial power. Enough to make sure clutch is not slipping and then only what it takes for the job. Have used it in a few areas of 12 to 14 inches of unkept grass/weeds at full throttle and did not bog down. We have the same engine on our blade edger and 2 hand held blowers all purchased last year have been pleased so far. Have not even clogged the spark arrester screen in muffler exit. I like the grease zerk versus a plug at the line end bevel gear. The other thing I like about Redmax IIRC is the lifetime warranty on the coil versus 1 or 2 years for others. I have had other older equipment fail a coil that we were still using as backup and was not happy with the price of a replacement coil. We also looked at a 4 mix 100 series Sthil that was close but did not like the use of plastic at the clutch to shaft area and you had to remove a plug to grease the bevel gear. The 100 was a lighter weight version of the 4-mix 110 model. The weights were both in the 11 pound range without fuel IIRC.

Good luck selecting one that will start better. I know last fall I was tired and sore from pulling on our old machine.

I bought the 2600 and like it a lot. starts easier and has more power than the echo 260 it replaced. I went with the 2600 mainly because the edgit didn't have an adapter for the 2400 yet.

For a while I ran the 2500s (just an older version of the 2600) and I loved them. However, I started needing a little more power for some of the super thick stuff that I occasionally get into:weightlifter: . So, last season, I got the 3000 and it is the best trimmer I have ever used. I love redmax!!!

Red Max trimmers are the best out there IMO!!! I've has my Red Max BCZ2600S trimmer for 2 1/2 years with NO problems at all! It has a ton of power, and always starts on the first or second pull! I'd highly recommend Red Max equipment!

I also USED to use Echo. After only one season with redmax I'll never use another brand. The 2400 is the best trimmer I've ever used. Just be sure to keep those filters cleaned. They seem to break down a little faster than the echos. Small price to pay for a world of difference

bought a redmax 2600 a week ago and thing is a powerful. It has way more power than needed. So far i don;t have a problem, and seems to be good on gas, unlike my ebz8000.

Redmax is the best out of the big three. I have used echo, stihl, redmax, and husqvarna 323l. I own both the redmax 2400 and 2600 and highly recommend both of them. However, if out of those two I would select the 2600, because sometimes when you get to those overgrown lawns the extra power comes in handy. But, the 2400 is great just for maintenance.
