Is it possible that your air filter is obstructed with grass and dirt? Check your air filter and oil level. If your oil level is OK the most obvious at first thought would be a plugged air filter impeding proper air flow, essentially running with the choke on or partially on. What is the color of the smoke you're emitting?

Black smoke is indicative of overfueling. Check your air filter. It would seem that using too much fuel(choking). You also may want check the choke butterfly to make sure that it is open and not partially closed.
