View Full Version : Air compressor??

I need to get a new air compressor and I'm trying to decide what size to get.
I looked at one that is 15gal 150psi 3.5scfm@90psi. Will this be large enough to remove blades on ZTR's?

seems a little low on the scfms but it might work. We have a 30 gallon, 175 max psi craftsman vertical compressor (not sure of scfms, somewhere in the mid fives though) thats for the wood shop, when my equipment shop is done im putting a Rigid Twin Stack Electric compressor in there for my mowers

Go to Sears websight and find item #19541 - oil-lubricated, quiet, and VERY strong. Got mine on sale for $329.00. It has NO problem with any air tool (I have many) that I have. :usflag:

They also have one that is 2hp 150psi 33gal 6.4scfm @90psi. I'll probably get this one it's $329.
I was thinking I might try to get by with the smaller one, because of limited space, but I do want to make sure I have enough power to get the blades off. I don't like to use a breaker bar, that's what I've been doing with the 8gal compressor that I was using before it died.

i have the ridgid twin stack was $279 at H.D. 4.5 gallons(i believe) 4.9 cfms. works great. portable (out in the field with exstension cord, plug into outside outlet on someones house) not to heavy, powerful, queit for oiless motor. nice warranty and only $279. i also have a ridgid 5pcs 18vlt set and have the inpact driver and that works as well even more portable. hope that helps
