View Full Version : Which Stihl Trimmer?

I am in need of a new trimmer and I was wondering which Stihl I should get. I got quotes on 3 trimmers, the FS100RX: $315.00, FS90: $325.00,FS130: $425. I am leaning towards the FS100RX but any opinions on which of the three I should get are appreciated.
Thanks, John Murphy

We have the Sthil FS90 as well as the FS130. I purchased the 130 a few months before the 90. Thinking for the cost probably the better choice. Regret my decision now. The power of the 130 is quiet a bit more then the 90. Throttle response is also faster. Spend the extra $ and get the 130.:)

We still have many older two cycle stihl's, 100's 110's 130's etc. If your needs do not include heavy brush trimming, and attachments, and you only need a general purpose trimmer, the 100 is perfectly adequate. In addition the 100 is a lighter trimmer.

I've had a lowly FS55 for years, its never failed once and I've rarely found times where I wish it had more power.
My new FS80 should be here this week ($275) and I am certain it will serve very well as my new primary trimmer. Anything more is just... more; weight and money.
If you really want a bigger model, go with the FS110 4-mix - its a nice unit.

I like the fs55 also only had one problem the screen was plugged took it off works great.
