Automatically fill the pond using sprinkler system.

I was wondering if anyone had experience or heard of the easiest way to use sprinkler system to refill a small pond up to a needed level every once in a while. Please suggest something if you can.

The only easiest thing I can come up with is to have a separate zone that would be programmed for a certain amount of time every day. The downside of this that it'll always have to be maintained and program adjusted in order not to overfill or underfill.

I wonder if anyone have better solution.

They make simple mechanical float valves similar to the ones in a toilet.

Put it in your skimmer, and pipe your mainline over to it.

If you want to get more complex, you could use a zone valve with a float switch as well.

Ditto ;)....I even had a SHRUBBLER zip tied to a bird bath for a little old lady once that ran w/ the drip, overflowed the bird bath each time it ran and kept her very happy...OMG did I say shrubbler?
