The man in Oregon that flipped the Turf Tiger was luck he survived. We have a Turf Tiger and if we fill uncomfortable cutting a hill we use a walkbehind or a string trimmer. It is not worth the chance of flipping a mower or getting killed to get a job done quicker.

From the pictures of the katu story, it looks like the ZTR was outfitted with agressive lugged drive tires. Why? Probably the owner had used the mower in these situations befoe, found it to slide and loose traction too often, so decided to change to a tire that would hold the slopes better.

Perhaps another lesson here: If it doesn't hold the slope, there is good reason not to use it, rather than to think the issue can be solved by changing the tires. Rather than having the mower slide, the more agressive tires gripped the surface better providing the opportunity for it to flip.

The question has been posted on LS before: What kind of tires should I put on my ZTR so that it holds the hills better? Maybe a BAD question to ask! Better to slide than to flip over.
