another lawn mower decision

I have to decide on getting another mower. I have a 48 inch walk behind and I need a machine that will go up and down hills with out sliding. Also I need another machine to fit in those little tiny areas. I am deciding between a John Deere Tractor with a 38 inch cut or a 36 inch walkbehind. It sounds from other threads that the hydro's will do better on hills. Is this still true? Please help me decide. I am leaning toward another tractor. Thanks

:angry: I would go with the walk-behind for the hills. I have two 36"exmarks and a 62"toro and the 36's do great on hills.

I use a Scag STHM or 3 wheel with an outfront deck I bought it instead of a mid mount Z. It drives with a foot pedal and steering instead of 2 levers. works great on hills if there is a problem
raise the deck slightly to change the weight. for small areas Great
Dane has amower that is adjustable from 36 to 52"
