Hey Rod.. no raises this year? just kidding
How much OT do you give your guys. My guys are making $15 for foreman and 12 for "general help", but they can work seven days if they want.

Rodfather is proud of that too.

Never misses an opportunity to say how much his guys make.

Must suck to have such a high cost of living there.

:)

How do you like the payroll taxes and work comp rates on those amounts?

Lived most of my 51 years in Josey Gene so I am used to it.

WC rates aren't that bad, only 4 bucks and change per 100. Yes, I am proud of the fact I can pay my guys some decent bucks. It assures quality control and attention to detail while on the property, near zero callbacks and complaints after 13 years, 100% employee retention, and rod's ease of mind in the evenings. :clapping:

OT? They actually don't want it unless I get in a bind with weather screwing us up.

Hey rod,

It depends on what we're doing. It can be as low as $45 an hour pulling weeds or upwards of $100 mowing.

Do they get flat rate, is that how they make so much , or do you actually pay them that by the hour?

Not sure if I understand your question. My guys get $17.50 and $22.50 respectively no matter what they're doing.

That answers the question, they get paid by the hour. Not by the time bugeted for the job they are working on. Do they always make you money, at that high a rate, 15 min here or there adds up quickly.

Usually 9 start or no exp, but just hired a guy that is pretty decent. He'll probably get 12 to start. Like we always tell our customers, sometimes to get a little more, you've gotta pay a little more. Still not top pay like Rod but I'm guessing (hoping) Jersey has a higher cost of living. To attract good workers, or even to get someone to show up more than two days, at least around here, you've gotta pay ok. Otherwise, what incentive is their to bust but in the sun all day and actually get your hands dirty.

My feelings exactly.
