Thanx Eric, I got the idea from your web site. the mounting braket can be adjusted to drag more chain on the turf.
If I'm not mistaken I read one of your articles in turf magizine. I remember you once posted alot of tips for new guys in this forum. It was an awesome write up Eric. thanks for the info you have been providing.

Thanks, I try to help out here as much as possible. I did have two posts in that thread I started, that made Turf Magazine. I figured it might help out the new guys and help them avoid some mistakes. ;)

The chains on mine drag a bit more than what you have showing, so try it at different highths.

The word is "STRIPE", not strip or stripping kit...........striping kit.

Looks good though................what ya gonna strip anyway, centipede? You gotta show the pictures of whatever you "strip" as we are all interested in seeing things "stripped".

I don't know how well it'll work on warm season grass so be sure and show the results.:blob3:

What happens if you back up, is there a chance that the chains will get caught up in the blades?

Hey Homer thanks for correcting my spelling. I just noticed a spell checker at the bottom of the page. I'll send some pictures of Southern lawns with nice stripes.

Geroge, nice bar, im about to make a couple myself for ours and too was wondering how effective really, are these striping bars? It looks as though it may help some and at the low cost to make i dont think we can go wrong. A job well done buddy!!!

My partner cut some turf today and it did the job on some Bermuda grass. I'll post some pics' later so you can see that Southern grass will stripe. the grass was only about 2" and I'm telling ya you can see the difference.

Excellent job, when I built mine,I set it up like Eric's ,so that 6-8" of chain are dragging in the grass, and the chains right next to the wheels are a hair shorter,so the rear tires wont run them over when backing.I would lower the angle iron,I bet it stripes even better.Again, nice job.

John DiMartino, We did lower the bracket and noticed it works better with more chain dragging.
Can't wait to try it out again tomorrow.
