My girlfriend went to HD today and bought 2 stewartstonian azaleas and she want to plant them in the front of her house. on the tag that comes with the plants it say to plant in an organicly rich mulch (first what kind of mulch are they talking about, i thought mulch was mulch) well where she want to plant they is in a washstone bed with weed barrier. i told her that its probably not a good idea(weed barrier will choke plant). i dont know i just mow. but this info will always help in the long run. thanks in advance

Theey need an acid soil..rich soil with compost and peat moss.If you cut back the weedcloth far enough, there will be plenty of room fo them to grow. They should have part shade though..heat reflected off the rock is not good.
