The new Toro machines are made by the old Homelite and Toro does not support them. The old Toro commercial trimmers were made by Maruyama.

I used Toro back when they were maruyama, and I've had a couple of maruyamas since. Thay are OK machines, very light, but everyone I had, had a problem with the throttle body assembly breaking, it is an $80 part. I am currently running Stihl and Echo.
I know 2 other guys who had maruyamas both of them had the throttle body assembly break on theirs.

I have the old Marayuma/Toro trimmer and i love it.

the only problem i ever have with mauryama is the fuel tank grommet leaking and of course no dealer even in a city of 1million!
