Dirty Water

We have a lot of non-potable water sources out here, so we install a handfull of pumps every year.
I'm wondering what people do to mount their pumps?
We pour a concrete slab (4'x4' usually) using pressure treated forms (we leave them on), and mount the pump and pressure tank to it with bolts. If the client wants a pumphouse, he can have it built ontop of the slab by someone else. We run the electrical conduit through the slab, but we do not run the water lines through it.
I've seen lots of pumps stuck to a 2x12 just sitting on the ground, so I'm wondering what you guys do.
