Can i assume the HD means its a 1 ton truck like a 3500 but without dually wheels or an f350 in a ford? Does chevy offer the 3500 in a non dually?

I know most fords if the sticker is 48-49k you can get them for around 41k.

What are you guys picking up loaded allison trans/duramax 2500HD trucks for these days that have sticker prices of about 45k? hopefully ill be getting one end of this year. wheres a good place to view pictures of guys trucks? I HATE the stock sized tires lol. gm sucks in that dept. when it comes to 20s on ford and dodge stuff.

my first thing will be 16/17" wheels and some larger tires like 33s? i think thats what i like lol.

HD doesnt mean its a 1 ton single rear wheel. 2500HD- 3/4 ton; 3500- 1 ton. They just put HD because they are more beefier than the old 2500's. GM does make a 3500 single rear wheel. Do your homework before you post, www.edmunds.com . You can build them on there and look at MSRP's and invoice pricing.

HD is Heavy Duty..........

lol yeah i know that but apparently there is no 2006 NON HD model right? and if the 2500 is an HD, whast the 3500 non-HD? seems more like just an extra HD to the 2500 badge to me.

Information from memory so check dealer(or chevy.com) or as suggested Edmunds.com. I do not remember the weight ratings on the models below the 2500 HD as we do not use them since our first diesel in 2001. After the first duramax we did not want to return to a gas engine for even light trailers due to improved fuel economy and power.

Chevy and GMC Pickups offerings are as follows:

1500 half ton
2500 3/4 ton
2500HD 3/4 ton heavy duty 8600 pounds Gross Vehicle Weight Rating
3500 Single rear wheel one ton 9900 GVWR
3500 Dual rear wheel one ton 11200 GVWR

The 2500 HD and above are the pickups that have the Duramax Diesel with the allison 6 speed automatic transmission. We us a 2500 HD with Duramax/Allison and have been pleased.

2500HD 3/4 ton heavy duty 9200 lb GVWR
500 Single rear wheel one ton 9900 GVWR
3500 Dual rear wheel one ton 11400 GVWR

we just picked up our new 06 GMC 2500HD Duramax/Allison today. Work truck package, nothing fancy but a beast of a machine.

You certainly should not be paying anything more than invoice for the truck. Hopefully less. This is before Tax Title, license of course. If you can get out the door for invoice price, you are sitting pretty.

I just bought a 2500HD GMC with the Alison, it is awesome after just 1500 miles. Make sure you get the larger of the two Max's.
