Removing oil from my Briggs&Stratton

Hello,
I have a Sarlo power mower with a 6.75 hp Intek pro engine (model #12267-017). Is the best method of removing oil to tip the lawnmower on its side and pour it out (like the manual says) or should I drain it from the botom of the unit through the plug?
Please give me some advice

It's always better to drain from a plug to get the largest amount of sludge ect. out of the pan. Always warm the engine before draining.
