I have a customer who wants me to come in and dig a trench about 3 feet away from the exterior walls of his house, he wants the trench about 1 foot deep, then I am to lay weeping tile in the trench, and cover it with crushed rock, the tile will drain out onto the street.

I have never heard of weeping tile only being about 1 foot deep, other then for the eavestroughs. He doesn't have water in his basement, but he does have some low spots. I am going to sugest just regrading the yard.
Am i wrong?

i have only seen that done once and it was because they thought gutters were tacky

I don't know because I don't build them, but it sounds like it.
