Matt feels he struck gold this morning.

While driving down the road rubbernecking, he sees an old fashion mower.
He insisted that I turn the truck around, and get back there.

So we stopped much to Matt's delight, it's a 1940ish Jacobsen self propelled (chain drive) reel motor, gasoline engine, unknown horsepower.

This mower is in real nice condition, tires are like new, rust on the handlebars and rims gives it that vintage look. Serial number tag is engraved brass. It's a really neat looking mower, everything intact.

And all for the measly price of $23.00 :)

Nice winter project. Will post pics once we get some taken.

Sounds pretty sweet for $23. It could turn into $230 if you find the right collector. I always thought the old mowers were fascinating. Russ

I have an old machine, sounds identical to yours. It has a 20hp-air cooled kohler.5 units a 10 ft cut,all units chain driven, and a few of them are shaft drive with feeder chains to other units.I still have the cutting units to it,not sure what model it is either.
