:realmad: :gunsfirin :help:  Do you ever have those days, when you feel like something is after you, trying to ruin your life? :dizzy:
EVERY monday is that day for me. Let's see, last monday the rod that hold the gate on my trailer up, slipped out of my hand and busted a new tail light, the other side busted me in my knee, then I hit a huge hidden ant hill that was like clay and, you guessed it, bent my blades and broke some rod on the deck which has taken a week to get in. So I've been using the old backup mower, which I get out to my first house today, unload EVERYTHING then try to start the mower, it won't start. I jiggle some wires, still nothing. I look at the battery and what do you know, somehow it has melted the negative terminal, COMPLETELY and welded the screw to the mower and burnt the wires.
I'm seriously considering not working another monday, this stuff happens EVERY monday to me, which is my busiest day. I can never plan anything for monday evenings because, even though I should be done working by 4 or 5, something always happens where I don't get done til 7 or 8!
ugh!
/end rant.

It seems like everyday presents new challenges. Some are bigger than the other.
I hear what you are saying. I've come to the conclusion that life is full of challenges and it's the way we deal with those challenges that define who we are.
I am still working on the dealing part.
kc
ps. Every time I see my son's mother, another challenge.

I have to agree..most of my breakdowns, flat tires, problems, etc happen on Mondays. Sorry to tell you this, but it has always been that way for me, 11 years and counting. I expect it now.

I got off my Kubota with a belly mower today. Front right side rod that holds the deck up had broken off. Small welding job. I had to use a bungy cord to hold it up off the ground so I could finish the job  Then when I was about to finish I saw smoke coming from under the hood. The radiator screen had clogged up completely from the 5 hours of mowing causing it to over heat. The radiator now has a pin hole in the top:hammerhead:

How the hell can a dirt ant hill, bend the blades and break a rod on a commercial mower?? What kind and size mower was this?

Doesn't matter, that wouldn't even slow down a commercial mower......it's still just dirt. Now a lawn tractor or a push mower, yeah.

Indeed. Plus it was wet which made it even worse. I don't know about where you guys live at, but we have a ton of clay here, soil is hard and this was even worse. I came down a hill and into a dip, and the HUGE ant hill was right in the middle of the dip, I nailed it and it make a huge dust cloud then I noticed huge scrape marks in the ground when I'd take a turn. :nono: Luckily the property isn't "show quality" and it was far in the back yard near a field.

I'd also like to add that last week I found that the nut and washer had somehow vibrated off my trailer hitch ball.. SOOOOO you can only imagine what would happen after the next bump.. !!

Fridays are always my bad day, I think because I'm excited for the weekend and usually have plans so I try to finish quickly but it rarely happens. :(

Yea...Today was bad for me...
Number 1. Get to second customers house. Unload Ol' Faithful out of back of truck (lawn tractor), second pass in flooded back yard, I lose a cotter pin holding the deck up...Wow...All I hear is RIZZZZZZZZZZ, Oh crap...Take it out, put in back-up, and go ten feet and get stuck. Pretty funny acually, took me 1.5 minutes to get out, and it was pretty deep.
IT NEEDS TO STOP RAINING IN MICHIGAN!

Not really a bad day but I get to the first house, start up the Z and let her get warmed up a little bit. Start up the blades and hear a screeching sound. Belt came off one of the pulleys and blades are hard to turn. Take it back to the house (after customer comes outside when I'm trying to get the belt back on to see if I need any help) and finally get the belt back on. Engage blades and something is still wrong. Grease the spindles (just did it 10 hrs ago) and then wolla. Works just fine. Spindles must have gotten some water in them from all the wet cutting and didn't want to turn. I'll be greasing the spindles after I cut in the water every time now. My lesson learned.:dancing:
