Is it raining anywhere ?

It's supposed to be. From the looks of all the people online today it must be raining somewhere.

On and off all day! I'm catching up on estimates and billing. I'm tired of doing mulching in the rain. Taking the day off, sorta. Seems like spreading mulch is about all you can do in heavier rain, without making a mess in someones yard.

Rained some here in SW TN yesterday afternoon and a big rain late last night. I think we got around 1 to 1-1/2" total. We really needed it. Hope it rains some more tonight!

Plenty of rain in southern Ontario today - rode my motorcycle in it from just east of Grand Bend right up to Orillia (around 150 miles or so) although now that I'm home, the rain has stopped - go figure! ;)

It's been fairly dry around here this month, so the rain was needed. But I wish Mother Nature would improve her timing - rain at NIGHT, not during the day!

Well here in Maryland the rains finally came after not having any since April 18. It's been raining off and on since Saturday and I cut in the rain on Sunday. Thank God for my RedMax blower. Unfortunately, the weather forecast calls for rain all week. While I'm thankfull for the much needed rain, I'm going to be behind on my schedule.

stormed last night, quit for enough time for me and the crew to go out and knock todays route out, then at the last lawn it down poured for 4 hours, then quit and stormed again all night so far just stopped alittle bit ago, calling for rain all week with chance of rain around 70% each day. can't wait to cut in the rain again tommorrow.

Its been raining steadily and heavily for two days. We were really dry prior to this, but now its time for it to stop so I dont have to mow in the rain. Nobody likes to get their grass cut in the rain, even if my mower does do a nice job in the wet. Dry weather is in the long range forcast.

We got a nice storm today:blob3: Heavy flooding rains and high winds. This I think will get the grass growing back nicely. We have just had showers the last few days until now. Cool dry weather is behind this front but i hope the wet weather makes its return regurly from now on. June is usually a dry month though.

2.8" in the last week, .5" today but I think another .5" worth blew over the gauge. We had winds approaching 50mph during todays storm. The weather service said 60mph near Charlotte. Man is it getting green around here.:blob3:

This is the second day straight of rain. 1 1/2 inches so far according to the trusty lawnguy rain gage. I did squeeze 3 lawns in today but got caught in a downpour so thats it til tomorrow. Rain is really needed so Id rather lose a couple days now than a couple weeks later on.

Bad part is I have jury duty Friday so even if Im excused (self-employment will get you excused) it still kills the day til 5pm. In this state you must report no matter what your reason to not want to serve is, and tell your excuse to the judge, and most judges hold everyone over the whole day regardless of whether you are called for a case, excused, whatever.

The grass around here is very thin in most yard. Lots of dead grass and i dont mean dormant. It going to take many weeks of rain for it to thicken up. The good part is you can fly through yards. The bad part is that its too close to being dormant again. Most yards i did today were dusty.

Finally rained in Tallahasse yesterday. The next morning the town looked great! No dust when I mowed- did not have to use the dust masks. Great for morale when your not just stirring up dust.

Esby, crew and Lake country can all vouch for the rain here. Its been crazy. In the metro area I had sleet today. Completed 15 yards today from 11am till now. Weather summary for today: rain, then the sun would come out, then rain, sun, sleet, sun, rain and it is nice out now.

Its good to hear you have some rain Charles.

Monday night i walked outside to hear the sound of falling rain...thank you Lord ...after almost a month of dust bowl conditions most of my accounts were on the edge of dormant. today they are calling for rain right thru the weekend. Plenty of time to catch up on all the little stuff that needs to get done around here mulch, prune, repairs, cleanups, ya know........its not so bad working in the rain.

Well we have been getting alot here in west Mi latley. I have measured about 8" in the last two weeks. Before that it was bone dry. It is great for the lake levels which are very low, but kind of hard on us mowing guys. I am not complaining though, it sounds like some guys still need rain. Hope some of ours drifts your way.

In southern California, we've has just about all the rain days we'll get until Fall. We may see an occasional thunderstorm storm, but it's rare. The upside is that just about every one of my accounts has automatic irrigation, so the "drought" doesnt affect us here (*this year).

Of course, we may have to go to burning candles if the electricity situation doesnt' improve :-)

People tell me to pray for rain because they see how distressed i am when its not. I tell them that somewhere in the US people are praying that it stops raining . We got plenty of rain now and this past week and I couldnt be happier. i just dont thing God sits around and plays monopoly with the weather. I think he set in place the weather patterns to have free will--- just like us. Because the weather is rarely fair and can be tortuous for us who depend on it for a living. I say every year that I will not get stressed out when it stops raining. But you can't help freaking out when the money stops rolling in during the prime time to make money. And when its flooding somewhere and the money stops its the same feeling. Sometimes i think it would be great to get a career that has nothing to do with the weather so I can go back to enjoying a sunny hot dry day.

Grateful11

I agree Charles. It's just weather we can't control or predict with a lot of accuracy. I think the Navy says 4 hours in advance is about as accurate as you can get. I've been a weather buff for over 30 years and I really don't believe in Global warming either. According to some ice core samples the weather has been flucuating wildly thru out history and there's not a darn thing we can do about it except live with it. Someones going to be wet and some dry, someones going to be cold and some hot.

I'm glad ya'll are getting some rain, when you get enough send down my way. We've got .10" in the last 7 weeks. If it don't rain soon, I'll have to sell my cows and I really don't want to do that. Good luck.....:blob3:

Rain all week. Slowed us down quite a bit.

Matt's out working today solo so we can get caught up because we will be off Sunday and Monday. We have 14 accounts that needed to be done yesterday. These ones are all pretty big. If he gets these done, he'll be able to relax the next couple of days. If not, he'll have a monkey on his back over the weekend and he won't be pleasant to live with. ;)
