Before I take it to the dealer I was hoping someone can help me out here. I have a 60" Lazer that I bought 2 years ago and when I mow it leaves two stripes about 3-4" wide in the middle of the path I mow. If I go really slow, it cuts fine. The blades are brand new on it. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Hello Rich,
I would check the rake on the unit. First, depending on the size of your deck, you've got to have the appropriate rake. Rake is measured off of the blades; positive rake is when the front blade tip is lower than the rear blade tip. The following are good starting positive rakes. You need a 1/4" positive rake for your 60" deck.
72" 1/4"+
60" 1/4"
52" 3/16"
48" 1/8"
44" 1/8"-
You'll also want to run the standard blades (Notched-High lift), for typically the best results.
Thanks Brian
Also, given that you said the blades are new, I would confirm the following. Take nothing for granted when a deck used to cut fine, but now it doesn't.
1. Are the 3 blades identical design and length? - are you sure?
2. Are the 3 blades mounted correctly? One upside down?
3. Are these a new type of blade to what you normally use?
I guess I am saying don't rule out the blades in all this.
