View Full Version : Dexter Axle Trailer Brakes

I have a Pace Workhorse open 6.5X10 foot trailer. I need some trailer brakes to help me stop and to reduce wear on my brakes when I have all of my stuff on my trailer. I noticed on Dexter's site that they sell complete brake kits with the hub and drum included. Is this what I would need to convert my non-braking axle to a braking axle? Or will I need to buy a whole new axle?

if you axel has backing plates for the breaks all you need is is the new kit with the new hubs and breaks and you should be ready to go

yep...what gammon said. you should have a flange with 4 bolt holes on your axle. i'd double check on you wheel bearing numbers to see that they're the same as the dexter kit. also you'll need a brake control in th truck...tekonsha is the preffered brand.
