View Full Version : Make your own trailer signs/graphics? with HP Plotter?

I have a 42" HP 5500 model plotter/designjet printer that prints upto 42" in width with dye based ink. I use inkjet media paper for it. I was thinking for my new trailer, which is white, to print my company logo, services, and a picture on this and use that for advertising on the sides and back of the trailer.

Besides vinyl cut by a machine, or paying $2k+ for full photo graphic vinyl work, what type of paper/media can i run though this machine?

Will it stick to the metal/paint side of the trailer?
Will it bleed with water or be water proof?
Will it fade after 2 months in the sun?

Even if the paper is $400 for one roll its well worth it, i can design all of my own stuff. Thanks
