Can you solve this problem? A property I maintain has 12 muti-trunk trees that I think were originally huge shrubs. The bottom of the canopies are kept 6' high. Now here is the problem, the trunks produce suckers like crazy and I have to remove them about every 4-6 weeks and it takes over an hour each time I do it. I was thinking of using a propane torch to kill the suckers as they sprout but don't know if this will damage the plant. I figure that it shouldn't take much heat on the new growth versus the bark. I have also heard of "Sucker Stopper" by Monterey Chemichal but have not found anyone that carries it and don't know what results I would get. Any suggestions other than removing the trees?

A chainsaw right at the bottom would solve your troubles for a while:laugh: .
All kidding aside, I believe Lesco sells that "Sucker Stopper" stuff. Their salesmen are very helpful most of the time.
