i was in the prosess of sewing 3 yards thursday, when we got 3 inches of rain of 2 hours. i had 2 and half yards seeded and strawed when it came. now there are ditches from 1 to 4 inches in random places. now the builder wants me to fix this(at his expence) but my question is how? there is straw every where there is no way to regrade with a machine.(which mine is down right know anyway). what is a good way to fix this.

so far i see my options as
1. hand shoveling in the ditchs and raking them down the best i can by hand, lots of ditches on three yards so this would be a big job
2. have the mulch blowing guy blow a topsoil mix in the ditchs and reseed and patch in the straw
3. let the yard grow in as it will and then go back in a few months and then take the skid and fill in the ruts and sew back?

please help

first gather and trash the straw if you can't use it again........what about sodding the ditches and sewing the rest.......or soding it all

if we have straw on the yard, the repairs are billed. We cannot cope with mother nature, now on a homeowners job I will work something out, but new construction no way. After straw you are done. period.. I make this clear upfront.

also could use netting but that can be a mess

Maybe Invest in a straw crimper? I think it is pretty much like a disc but it has a little different wheels that kind of push the straw into the ground. I would try to fill in the ruts by hand. I dont know how big your yards are, but I would just make a day project out of it.

actually we've used synthetic straw.......Curlex*, maybe take a look into that
