Kaw 12.5 hp engine problem

One of my main mowers is a 32" exmark metro with the 12.5 kaw...The mower has gotten harder and harder to start over the last few weeks and has been loosing power

Ive changed the sparkplug, put new fuel/air filter...nothing has helped

any suggestions what could be causing this ( could the valves need adjusting?)

Please give any suggestions, I really cant afford to have my main mower in the shop for a month

Sounds as if the coil is getting weak.

sorry but we had the same problem with 2 of our 12.5, ours had compression problems, to make a long story short we replaced thim with 15hp kohler's;)

It probably needs a valve job.

I'd say check the compression but they have comp release on them so it won't help much. How many hours on the engine? Usually around 300-400 hours, they need a valve job.
