Maple Trees growing everywhere

We usually cultivate the beds every two weeks, but i guess we forgot to do this one and now there are maple trees growing from everywhere. i mean everywhere. what can i do to get rid of them? could i just cultivate the beds? because we plan on putting mulch down soon. Any help would be great

I would think that would kill them as when they are that small and young, they are pretty sensative.

ya there not big, only like 1-2 inches, but theres so many

pull em out and mulch the beds then spread some Preen over top...
